West London: Residential Builder
CMS has been working with this West London based building contractor since 2017, targeting residential projects with values up to £3m. Always flexible to meet the changing needs of any business, we provide business development support between 4 and 6 days per month alongside a targeted mailing campaign.
Hertfordshire: Residential Builder
Based in Hertfordshire, this builder has had regular support from a CMS business development professional for two days per month since 2017. Seeking residential projects of up to £1m, CMS has built an active pipeline of over £6m in tender opportunities.
Surrey: Family Builder
One of our longest and most embedded relationships, we have been working with this family-managed builder in the heart of Surrey since 2011. Initially engaged to drive growth, we developed a strategy to take the business from under a million to a comfort level of around four million in turnover. We have helped raise their average order value from £35,000 to over £700,000. Now we continue to work with our client to curate their best relationships and field incoming tender enquiries.
Central London: Builder/Bespoke Joinery
We began working with this hybrid contractor/bespoke joiner in 2018. Based close to central London they are ideally placed to work with high-end interior designers and architects on some really nice projects. CMS were engaged for 9 months to introduce the company to new contacts. The company is currently developing its sales literature, based on the 30+ meetings booked by our business development expert, and will return to active sales shortly.
UK: Commercial Interior Fit-Out
CMS were called in in 2018 to work with this Commercial Interior Fit-Out client when the income from their one major client began to decline. Working closely with the client’s core team our business development expert quickly secured a tender for a £90k project which has now been followed with a further £500k in tender opportunities.
Central London: High-End Residential
This Central London residential design and build specialist started working with CMS in 2018 with a mandate to bring on stream a new enquiry channel through projects tendered by architects. We placed a business development expert with the business, initially on four days a month, who has generated a potential tender pipeline of around £6.5m, and secured work of over £1m.
North London: Flat-Conversion Specialist
Another example of the benefits of flexible working with CMS, we have been working with this North London based builder since 2016. Our initial brief was to build a strong pipeline of business and assist in the recruitment of a full-time sales resource. However, after the full-time resource moved on in 2018 CMS were brought back in to provide a rapid injection of opportunities – over the last 12 months we have helped them secure almost £12m in new projects.
Sussex: Family Builder
This builder, based in Sussex, wanted to develop a steady stream of work that would help them grow the company. Originally starting in 2017, CMS was so successful that by mid-2018 we had to step back to allow them to work through the opportunities they had on the table. We are now working with them again and together we are building a long-term and sustainable revenue stream.
South Coast: Established Mid-Sized Builder
A well-established £20m turnover construction group based on the South Coast, contacted CMS when their internal sales resource moved on to pastures new. Since starting our work with them in 2018, CMS has brought in over £10m of tender opportunities.
Midlands: Small Works and Maintenance Contractor
With an accomplished salesman at the helm, this Midlands-based small works contractor needed our support in a different way. While the MD had all the requisite skills to win new business, he lacked the all-important time to develop the leads. We started working with this company in 2019, opening doors and booking appointments that result in new business relationships.
South Coast: Groundworks
Since beginning work with this £1m groundwork contractor in 2018, CMS has supported the MD on two high-profile meetings with potential clients and generated a significant number of enquiries for house-building projects in the local area.
UK: Mechanical & Electrical
CMS were asked to provide Business Development Support to this £20m M&E contractor after we had been referred to them by another client. We have been so successful in generating price enquiries for them, they have recently hired a new estimator to work exclusively on opportunities we generate.
Thames Valley: Stonemason
We have been working with this specialist stonemasonry company since 2018. Our main focus has been introducing the company to the Kitchen Design market for specialist worktops. To date we have successfully introduced them to well over 60 specialist Kitchen Designers and are now working with them to develop unique Open Workshop events.
This is a great example of how CMS can support a business, even when its service is highly specialist and technical. We learn quickly and have been able to generate over thirty key appointments for them with major work-providers since we started working for them a year ago.
Since 2018 we have been working with this London-based architectural firm to help them establish a strong presence in the Care Home market. As well as finding project opportunities, setting meetings with senior managers and following up fee bids submitted, we also ran a stand for them at the Birmingham NEC Expo: a major opportunity which resulted in over thirty key contacts on the day; eight of which were high potential and on-going for specific work.
