Working with a range of clients from main contractors and professional services to specialist and sub-contract trades, our team of Business Development Managers work alongside our clients to build relationships, uncover strong leads, chase tendering opportunities and help them to deliver their company goals.
Our work is primarily telephone-based, so a good telephone manner is essential – we don’t do ‘hard-sell’; but real relationship skills are required to build rapport and trust with new contacts.
Experience or knowledge of the construction industry is advantageous, although training will be given.
Willingness to travel is important as work with clients may be carried out at their offices. Even if you are working from your own office, there will certainly be occasional client visits.
You must be highly self-motivated as you will be working independently, representing both CMS and our clients.
IT literacy is a must; our bespoke ‘Prospector’ database is an essential part of our sales hunting toolbox, along with email and spread sheets.

Our BDMs work for us as many or as few days as they want each month, depending on client requirements. This can range from two days to sixteen days a month.
